- Test drives and clinic in collaboration with COSI’s SciFest
- Open to boys and girls ages 7-18.
- Experts on hand to answer your questions about the STEM required to make a gravity powered race car go fast.
- After proper instruction, you’ll drive a gravity powered race car!
- If you’re in love with derby racing after the test drive, we have loaner cars available to help you get started racing.
- Wear layers of outer clothing
- Wear the smallest pair of shoes you own. Derby drivers often wear ballet slippers or water shoes.
- Take the Big Run Park service road all the way back. Park in the gravel lot adjacent to the track. Report to the scorer’s table.
- Come early and watch others take their test drive
- email columbus@soapboxderby.org to reserve a test drive slot.
- Test drives slots occur every 15 minutes on the hour, quarter, half, and three-quarter-hour.
- All drivers must have a parent/guardian sign this waiver beforehand or at the track.
